From food and drink, to homeware and beauty, and bookable services and appointments; we work with a range of product-based businesses.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or improving an existing store, we’ll create an e-commerce website that looks the part, works hard and makes buying feel easy.
We work with product-based businesses who…
have a growing product range that's becoming harder to navigate
are launching their first proper online store
have outgrown a DIY or underperforming website
need to improve the customer journey and conversion
need better systems behind the scenes
E-commerce thinking, without losing the brand creativity.
E-commerce projects sit somewhere between creative design and business systems. And luckily, we understand both. We'll think about how the store looks and performs, but we'll also ask about products, fulfilment, stock, payments, integrations and how your team will actually manage it day to day.
A little more proof, if you need it:
20+ years’ experience in UX, web and brand design
The right e-commerce platform for your business now, and in the future
Design and functionality considered as one connected experience
Fixed-price packages, no surprises — you'll know exactly what you're paying before we start
Full visibility from day one — track progress, feedback and files on your own project board throughout
E-commerce + Brand
Your products are ready. Is your branding?
If the identity behind your products isn't quite ready for a bigger stage, we can develop your brand and e-commerce website together. That means packaging, product presentation and the digital shopping experience can all be considered as part of the same bigger picture.
Packaging + Print
Need retail products that look good on the shelf?
The customer experience doesn't end at checkout. We also design product packaging, labels, inserts and printed collateral, helping you create a joined-up experience from the first click to the moment the parcel lands in their hands.
Questions we get asked about e-commerce website design
-
We design e-commerce websites for startups, growing product businesses and established brands across food and drink, beauty, lifestyle, homeware, gifting, retail and beyond.
That can mean launching a new online store, redesigning an existing one or rethinking a store that's become difficult to navigate or manage as the business has grown. Every project is shaped around your products, customers and the way your business actually operates.
-
It depends on what you're selling, how many products you have, how the business operates and what you need the website to do now and in future.
We work primarily with Shopify for dedicated e-commerce businesses and Squarespace where the selling requirements are more straightforward or selling forms part of a wider content-led website. We'll look at things like product volumes, variants, payments, shipping, integrations, subscriptions and how your team will manage the store before recommending the right platform.
-
Neither is automatically better — they're built for different levels of e-commerce complexity.
Shopify is generally our recommendation for businesses where selling online is central to the operation, particularly where there are larger product ranges, more complex inventory, integrations or plans to scale. Squarespace Commerce can be a great fit for smaller stores or businesses where products sit alongside services, content, bookings or other parts of the business.
We'll recommend the platform around what you actually need rather than trying to fit your business into our preferred system.
-
We'll look at what's already working and where customers may be getting hung-up, considering navigation, product organisation, collections, product pages, mobile experience, content, conversion journeys and the wider visual identity.
From there, we'll establish whether you need a considered redesign or whether the problems run deeper and a more substantial rebuild, restructure or platform migration would make better sense.
-
We're increasingly considering how products can be understood by both traditional search engines and AI-powered discovery tools.
Clear product information, logical categories, useful descriptions, structured product data and a technically sound store all make it easier for search and AI systems to understand what you sell and when your products might be relevant.
No agency can guarantee that ChatGPT, Google AI or another platform will recommend a particular product, but we can make sure your store has strong foundations for both traditional search and emerging AI-led product discovery…if that’s what you’d like!
-
The exact setup depends on your platform and how your business operates, but your project can include support with payment gateways, shipping options, product variants, discounts, integrations and other store functionality.
We'll establish what's needed during the discovery stage rather than loading your store with apps and features you don't actually need.
Where specialist functionality or development is required, we'll work with trusted developers or technical partners.
-
Your store needs to work for the people running it as well as the people buying from it.
We'll consider how your team needs to manage products, stock, content and orders when recommending and setting up the platform. At handover, we'll provide tailored training and tutorials covering the areas of your store you're likely to manage day to day.
And if you'd rather keep us involved, ongoing Website Support is available too.
-
Yes, you'll need to provide the final product information and assets required for your store, including things like product names, descriptions, pricing, variants, imagery and any relevant specifications.
We'll guide you on what we need and how it should be structured, and where required we can provide photography, copywriting or source specialists to help create the content.
For larger product catalogues, we'll agree how product population or migration will be handled as part of the project scope.
-
If your current e-commerce platform is no longer supporting the way your business operates or where you want it to go, we can help you move to Shopify or Squarespace.
We’ll first look at your existing store, product catalogue, content, functionality and integrations to understand what needs to be retained, improved or reconsidered. From there, we can plan the migration, redesign the customer experience and work through products, URLs, redirects and other important details involved in moving an established store.
For larger or more technically complex migrations, we can bring in trusted development partners where required.
-
We can design websites for businesses that need customers to book and pay for appointments, experiences, classes, events or other services online.
The right setup depends on what you’re selling and how your bookings need to work, so we’ll consider things like availability, capacity, payments, customer communications and any systems you already use before recommending the right platform or integration.
-
We can design e-commerce websites for businesses selling digital as well as physical products, including downloads, resources, courses and other digital products.
We’ll look at how your products need to be purchased, delivered and managed, then recommend an appropriate platform and setup around those requirements. If your business combines digital products with services, memberships or physical products, we can consider how they all need to work together too.
-
Email can be an important part of the wider e-commerce customer journey, from building your mailing list and welcoming new subscribers to product launches, abandoned baskets and encouraging repeat purchases.
We can help establish the visual and strategic foundations for your email marketing, including branded templates and integrations with your website. Where your requirements extend into more advanced automation, segmentation or ongoing campaign management, we can scope the appropriate support or work alongside a specialist where required.
