A good website is even better when people can find it
Having a great-looking website is one thing. Making sure search engines can understand it, the right people can discover it and everything behind the scenes is working as it should is another.
We audit and optimise Squarespace and Shopify websites, looking at everything from SEO foundations and search intent to content, performance and technical setup. Then we’ll give you a clear plan for what needs attention — and can take care of the improvements too.

Visual Identity Design
Start with what’s already there.
Before adding more pages, rewriting everything or chasing the latest search tactic, it pays to understand how your website is performing now.
We’ll look at how your website is structured, what it’s currently being found for and where there are gaps or technical issues holding it back. From there, we can identify the changes most likely to make a meaningful difference.
Search Foundations
Keyword and search-intent research, page titles, meta descriptions, headings, URLs and internal linking to help search engines understand what your pages are about.
Content & Discoverability
Identifying opportunities around your services, products, sectors, locations and audience, with recommendations for new or improved content where it makes sense.
Technical Foundations
Page speed, image optimisation, broken links, redirects, mobile performance, accessibility and achievable technical SEO improvements within your platform.
Search & Measurement
Google Search Console, analytics and relevant webmaster tools set up or reviewed so we can understand what’s happening and make better-informed decisions.
You don’t need to have a website designed by Studio Creates to work with us on optimisation.
We can audit and optimise existing Squarespace and Shopify websites, starting with what you already have before recommending what happens next.

SEO. GEO. AIO. AEO. And whatever comes next.
Search has acquired a few more acronyms.
Traditional search engine optimisation (SEO) now sits alongside generative engine optimisation (GEO), AI optimisation (AIO), Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) and an evolving range of ways people use search and AI tools to find businesses, products and answers. We keep an eye on how that landscape is changing and consider discoverability beyond traditional Google search when making recommendations.
But the foundations haven't suddenly disappeared. Clear, useful content, a well-structured website, strong technical foundations and making it easy to understand who you are, what you do and why you're relevant still matter.
For more complex or specialist search requirements, we can also collaborate with dedicated SEO specialists as part of the wider project.
Questions we get asked about SEO on Squarespace & Shopify
-
Yes. An audit is usually where we’ll start, particularly if you already have a website but aren’t sure how well it has been optimised.
We can review your existing search setup, content, keywords, page structure, metadata, internal links, performance and available analytics to understand what’s working and where there are opportunities to improve.
You’ll come away with clear, prioritised recommendations rather than a long list of technical issues with no indication of what actually matters. We can then implement those improvements for you, or hand them over for your own team to action.
-
Yes. You don’t need to have had your website designed by Studio Creates.
We can audit and optimise existing Squarespace and Shopify websites, starting with the setup you already have and recommending improvements around SEO, content, structure and technical performance.
If we uncover wider usability, design or functionality issues that could undermine the value of increasing your website traffic, we’ll flag those too.
-
Yes. If location matters to your business, we can research how people are searching for your services in the areas you want to target and recommend an appropriate local SEO strategy.
That might include optimising existing pages, developing genuinely useful location-specific landing pages, improving local search signals and considering how your website works alongside your Google Business Profile.
We won’t create dozens of near-identical pages simply to insert different town names. Any location strategy needs to be useful to the people landing on those pages as well as search engines.
-
Yes. Keyword and search-intent research can form part of our website optimisation work.
We’ll look at how people search for your products or services, the terminology they use, relevant competitors and where realistic opportunities exist. That might identify improvements to existing pages or opportunities for new service, product, sector, location or supporting content.
The aim isn’t to cram keywords into your website. It’s to understand what your audience is actually looking for and make sure your website answers it clearly.
-
Yes. An audit can be delivered as a standalone piece of work, but we can also implement the recommendations where your website and platform allow.
That might include improving page titles and meta descriptions, headings, content, internal links, image optimisation, redirects, page structure, performance and other on-page or technical SEO foundations.
For more complex or specialist SEO requirements, we can work alongside a dedicated search specialist rather than pretending every problem has a simple fix.
-
SEO is usually a longer-term investment rather than something that produces an immediate result after a few website changes.
Some improvements can be picked up relatively quickly, while meaningful changes in search visibility and organic traffic can take longer and depend on factors including your market, competition, website history, content and the searches you’re targeting.
We’ll focus first on putting strong foundations in place and prioritising the opportunities that make sense for your business, then use available search and analytics data to understand how things develop.
-
No — and we’d be wary of anyone who says they can.
Search rankings are influenced by many factors and search algorithms continually change. What we can do is make sure your website has strong SEO foundations, identify realistic search opportunities and improve the things within our control.
The aim is sustainable improvement in how your website can be found and understood, not an arbitrary ranking promise.

You may have come across terms such as GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) and AIO (AI Optimisation) as the way people search increasingly includes AI-powered tools and answer engines alongside traditional search.
Broadly, they describe efforts to make your business and website easier for AI systems to understand and potentially reference when answering relevant questions.
We consider this changing search landscape as part of website optimisation, but we don’t treat GEO or AIO as a magic replacement for SEO. Clear, useful content, good website structure, strong technical foundations and credible information about your business remain important across both traditional and AI-led discovery.
For projects requiring specialist AI-search analysis or optimisation, we can work alongside dedicated search specialists.

Working with Studio Creates on the new website for Renée Turner Interiors has been such a positive experience from start to finish. Sarah and Kirsty have been absolutely amazing to work with and genuinely have such a strong eye for design. They really understood the feel and direction I wanted for my brand and created a website that feels both professional and completely what I wanted and needed.
